5 Tips for Recovering from Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

Recovering from a flare-up can be tough. However, some ways can speed up the recovery process and help you get back on track 👇🏾⠀

Get more sleep⠀

Your body needs time to recover. Try to go to sleep earlier than you usually do, or, if it's possible, wake up later.⠀

Say no to exhausting commitments⠀

Find the strength to say no to commitments that are less important than your well-being. Take care of yourself first.⠀

Take care of your diet⠀

Having cravings for sugar and junk food is normal when you have a flare-up. But try to maintain clean eating to go through that flare-up sooner.⠀

Document what triggered the flare-up

If you want to understand your fibro limits and triggers, start documenting your symptoms in a journal. It can take time, but you will be less likely to accidentally trigger flare-ups in the future.⠀

Make room for self-care⠀

Sometimes small things can do wonders for your body and well-being. Relaxing massages, hot showers, restorative yoga, ice packs – these are just some examples that can help you ease the pain and minimize exhaustion.⠀
